Relax

I need time to relax. I have just gone back to my hometown in JB and have a very wonderful weekend with my parents, sister and fiance. We have a nice dinner together in the Sanggar Mampir Sate (in my opinion 100 or 1000 times tastier than the famous sate Kajang). I also have the oppurtunity to go tu Nusajaya, one of the township and major project of Iskandar Development Region. Other than that the usual stuff; go to Holiday Plaza for pirated software (piracy save my money :p) and Plaza Angsana and City Square JB for jalan jalan. Ah, we missed the Royal London Circus in Danga Bay though.

Right now, what I really need is a nice vacation to a beach or a waterfall. =)

Utopia

Utopia - The World of Legend.
It has been 7 years since i first knew this game. I still remember how my
friend Ustat in MRSM Jasin
introduce me to this game and i quickly become possessed and play this game up
until now. It’s not so graphically unique as World of Warcraft, nor as vast a
Ragnarok Online world. This game however has the ‘aura’ to make me play this
game as long as i remembered.

I only stop playing this game couple of time; 2000 when SPM is near, 2001
when i just when into UTP, and when UTP internet line is not so good sometime
around 2002-2005 (Thanks to the best lousiest IT department in the world).

It means that it has been 7 years since i first entered my high school.
Since then up until now many new things and experiences that i got. Smile, cry,
happiness, sadness has teach me many great things regarding life, friends and
families. How i wish i could retake my SPM and try to get straight A1’s (and go
to Japan), try my best to get as many friends as i could in my high school
days. But i know the rule. What past is past. =)

But how should i tell this certain somebody that what he is now doing the
exact way i’m doing in the past 7 years my high school days. He’s been slacking in his studies,
trying to avoid friends, and have a very high confident level about everything
but in reality; nothing is achieved and can be done.

One thing about utopia is that every 4 months, the server will reset and i
will manage to start with fresh new ideas with how to manage my province. This
is my utopia now, seeing a reflection of myself in this certain somebody. This
is my chance to fix what i have done wrong through my reflection. This is the
time.

Here’s what I’m hoping to do in 2007. It’s a bit late to write in here but I’ll write it anyway =)

• Become more metrosexual
• Stay healthy
• Get higher pay in my new job
• reactivate escabyte business
• create a printing company and get tones of money from it
• get a brand new car
• Adopt a 3-storey-terrace-house-live-alone lifestyle
• Get married

Mood

I have missed so many wishes; Selamat Berpuasa, Happy Deepavali, Selamat Hari Raya. Owh well, never late than never :p

A path to business is never been so hard i guess. Now that i already work in a multinational company and want to manage the company at the same time, it is tiring. Manage to test the beta version of  my company’s software in the company i work though. =) And waiting to somebody to finish up the SME software to be market by Escabyte. 2 new software under escabyte brands in the near future. Alhamdulillah.

Not to forget, congratulations to Mustaffa for his new job, to Amirul for the new job and new house in Cyberjaya ( :p ) and to my dear.. well.. fiance for everything =)

Have to find the mood to write back this blog. It has been a while.

Malaysia Implementation Corporation :)

Malaysia and I have the same problem. We have tones of great NEW ideas and lack of
implementation. Malaysia and Malaysians themselves possess fantastic visionary concept and is very
innovative but when it come to execution, we are not able to follow through the
ideas and lack the energy to concentrate. Maybe the problem I have got to do
with how the government train Malaysia.
I am part of Malaysia
after all.

What I am disappointed with the government today is how we
comprehend the ICT vision. We have a very good head start with the execution of
Multimedia Super Corridor, MSC (now MSC Malaysia). The concept is great. Copy
what Silicon Valley had to offer and we offer
them to the future investor. After that MSC will have its own target market,
concept and vision. But now after more than 10 years, some country that copy
our technology and ideas already leap ahead of us in term of execution. Dubai. The Dubai Internet
City and Dubai Media
City is very well executed
that now it has become one of the most popular for ICT company of the world.
100% free tax, 100% Foreigner Company. And why now we are lacking behind Dubai while we
are the one who started it all?

Now Malaysia an its 9^th Malaysian Plan have this
3 corridors that they want to make in the North, East and South Johor (namely
Northern Corridor, Eastern Corridor and South Johor Corridor). Why in the Malaysia government
wants to do that? Why we don’t want to do some specialization for god sake.
Make MSC Malaysia concentrate on ICT, North states concentrate on plantation
and biotechnology (for example) etc. What we want to do now is spread the
technology from north to south but at the same time spread plantation,
education, biotechnology and electronic the same way. It will not work per se.
And why in the world Johor’s own Cyberjaya – named MSC Cyberport? Hong
Kong also has its own e-village called Cyberport. Don’t we have
any other name to put? Blergh~ you want to get some investor but at the same
time confuse them with the name and all.

Whether we know it or not, Malaysia is now slowing down its
ICT push, distracted by other areas of development that we do not have a niche
or competitive advantages.

Ok ok maybe now I am a bit bias because I’m an IT person.
Well, let’s look at education. I think in the many previous Malaysia Plans, we
want to make our higher education learning the best in the world. And in 9^th
Malaysia Plan, we have a desire to develop our human capital. But what are the
actions?

China.
At the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), the Education Development and Investment
Corp has a master plan to develop an educational hub and hopes to attract the
best global institutions of higher learning in science, humanities and
technologies so that the Chinese can develop their brain power. Many
international names are already building their campuses there. Where is Malaysia
now in education? In my opinion, Malaysia still stuck in their same
old brand new education “innovation”.

India.
Having being one of the poor country for some time, they manage to upgrade
their human capital and make themselves professional in business process
outsourcing and IT. Malaysia
on the other hand being one of the innovative ones, lacking behind.

So, what is Malaysia,
which resides between the awakened tiger of Indiaa and the aroused dragon of China,
doing?

FTA will be executed in few years. We will have a free trade
agreement with some of the biggest economic players in the world. If Malaysian
still like this, enjoying our success and gazing at the 2nd world tallest
building etc, then prepare to become the next Indonesia in the next 5 years.

Decision

Every times I update my blog, the story of my work life will
be different. As my last update said that I will start my journey with both
Escabyte and Red Cactus, this few weeks has made me rethink of my current self
and capabilities to handle both responsibilities.

And a decision was made a few weeks ago that i need to concentrate on one work
only if i want to be both successful in both business world and upgrade my
personal skills. And to think that my decision will make someone unhappy is
quite tough for me. It takes me quite some time to tell my business partner(s)
my decision and Alhamdulillah, nothing bad happen when i tell him. Hopefully he
can respect my decision and in the future Escabyte and Red Cactus can have a
mutual venture in IT doing some business together.

As some of you already knew, I decided to continue with Escabyte instead.
Alhamdullillah, now we at Escabyte can do better work after we got a permanent office
at Jalan Gombak, Kuala Lumpur. Some works have already flowing in. Please pray for our
success here at Escabyte.

Moving

2 months without update. Busy doing I don’t know what. It’s
just that I need to re looked at something before moving to KL. Yes, I will
move to KL by the end of this week. After a year doing business in JB, I now
know that KL market for IT company like Escabyte is bigger than that of JB. For
you who didn’t know yet, my second company will be launched in the near future
concentrating in IT, but have different niche market. Thanks to my partner, I don’t
have to think a thing about what to plan and decide for the company. But of
course I have to know what their planning for the next 5 years la. But I will
not be handling those decision making things. Thank God.

Of course my time will be 2x lesser and twice busier with
all this stuff. I have to double up my technical knowledge for Red Cactus and
read and gain more experience in managing and marketing for Escabyte. It’s like
2 different jobs for 2 different companies.

My KL house will be situated in Damansara Damai. Take note
that it is not near Damansara at all. Situated between Kepong and Sungai Buloh,
the traffic condition there is worst than Ampang with those MRR2 maintenance
thing. I will bring my best friend to help me with managing Escabyte and Red
Cactus. I bring him for many reasons actually. J

Hope to be in good condition when Escabyte and Red Cactus started
its daily operation in KL. Good office, good location, good mood, good health
etc. Pray for me mates.

Today i kinda have a headache reading other people blogs regarding valentines day. So many opinions and facts that make my head spin like crazy for the past few hours

For me, it’s up to the person what he want to do. To celebrate or not to celebrate is up to individual. But one must know that every religious have their own belief so do your action based on that. If you think your religoius prohibit this kinda thing, for God sake please dont do it. If you think you are the non believer one and wanted to go straight to hell afterlife, then go ahead. Do what you want to do instead. As easy as that. But yes, it is true too that giving consultation / comments / suggestion to others is what can make a better community. Sigh… now you know why i said i have a headache with all this facts.

Owh yeah, i will be going to KL this thursday until i dont know when. If i got the time then will be able to meet some of my fellow utpian friends there. For now, i need to rest my brain for a while.
